Fenner Hall consists of two equal sized residential towers, with a total of 510 rooms[2]. Each tower contains nine floors, with roughly 28 residents per floor. For a weekly tariff, students get the largest rooms ANU offers being 3.6 by 2.7 metre rooms with all utilities included, access to cooking facilities, music and art rooms, three computer labs, three common rooms, a TV room and a small library[3]. 'The Warren' canteen is the social hub of the hall.
Fenner Hall administration attempt to ensure a balance of students, male and female, local and international, undergraduate and postgraduate. Being self-catered, the hall is an attractive prospect for international students; in 2009 fifty percent of the hall's residents were international students, with this increasing in 2010 to 54%.
The Head of Hall is assisted by the Deputy Head and the Administration Manager. The Deputy Head works with three Sub-Deans, who assist in the pastoral care of the Hall, as well as being responsible for the training and recruitment of the Senior Resident team and Academic Program Organisers. The Sub-Deans in 2011 are Laura Clarke, Phillip Gatt, and Ben Hamer.
Each floor has an appointed Senior Resident, responsible for organising social events on the floor, monitoring students and informing the Dean of residents of any problems students are experiencing.
Residents elect a Fenner Resident's Committee (FRC), responsible for organising sporting, art and social events within the hall and in with other university halls. The committee is also responsible for advocacy within the Hall. Currently the committee has 19 members. The FRC President for 2012 is Dan Rose.
